This week I bought this satin glass pedestal rose bowl......an addition to the rose bowls I posted a couple of weeks ago and also in the same décor as the vases in image two.
And then it struck me that the glossy lobed rose bowl I'd bought months ago could well be the same décor as the three satin glass pieces in image two.
IF it is the same décor then the satin glass pieces may be Kralik.
Please enlarge images three and four and tell me whether you think they are the same décor or not.
As one of my posts from last week showed, when it comes to spatter décors, the same decor can vary considerably.
These seem to be the same décor.....

The question is right and proper but the answer seems to be ambiguous ( for me,of course). The items in pic2 are in the same decor .It's clearly visible. The two in pic4 looks very similarly. It goes as far as to say that they are the same decor. When I can see pic 3 I'm not so sure.Maybe this is caused by different finishing - satin and not.
The same or not they are really great, especially while standing upside down :)
Thank you, Ivonne, for giving the idea your consideration. The biggest difference is the colour of the amethyst/black spatter. On the lobed bowl here the spatter remains amethyst presumably because the confetti is small/thin. On the plain red lobed bowl on the previous post the amethyst spatter is 'black'. I think the paler spatter on the lobed bowl here may simply be due to a 'variance on the day'.
Yvonne, the upside down view is there because it gives a better view of both spatters. The link is worth a look too, by the way.
I saw the link and I think it is different a bit in the shape of spatter. It is ...blurry ?
But I can see your point and all the differences can be a'variance on the day'.
For me at least, the issue with these types of spatters, and the reason I try to focus more on shapes with these, is that it can be very difficult to determine if two similar examples are variations of one decor, or similarly derived combinations of colors by two houses. Where there are slightly different combinations of colors in quite similar decors, I personally tend to lean in the direction of thinking that they are by different houses. The exception to that may be similar decors on the same shape.... in which case it may be a variation of a single decor, or an intentional design change..... which we will likely never know.
Using some Welz spatters as an example, it is common to see a different density of color in a spatter, but almost without exception, the combination of colors found in their spatters remains the same. We see the same combinations of colors time and again, indicating that they are "formulas" or "recipes", and not random as was suggested for so long. (End of Day Spatter)
Where many of the identified Welz spatters are bright distinctive combinations of colors, some of the spatters such as these, using less distinctive color combinations can be, at least for me, very difficult to differentiate. I am sure that most houses made similar spatters to some of these, including Welz, but much of that Welz production, as well as production by other houses, may remain unidentified due to the ambiguous and less distinctive nature of the designs. Identifying shapes through distinctive decors, is likely the most solid and supportable path to attributions.
Just my 2 cents worth. :-)
I would be of the opinion, based on these images only, that the three satin pieces appear to share a common make. where the other example does not. The piece in the middle of the group of 3, appears to be a good example of a difference in density of a spatter, using the same combinations of colors.
What I meant to say was, based on these images, that the three satin pieces appear to share a common decor, and the other example appears to be a different decor. Do they share a common maker? I think the three satin pieces likely do.
To link the other piece to the same maker, I think you would need to locate the same décor on one of the three other satin décor shapes, or the decor in satin on the lobed shape.
Thank you, welzebub. Do you have a view on who made the pieces in the above link?
I do not..... I have never been able to figure those out. They are quite unusual. Never seen another one like them either.
