Beautiful antique silver and ivory handle, on a lovely malacca stick.
I don't know too much about this piece yet as I don't have it in hand yet. I have to travel around fifty miles to the seller's house, as he will not post.
I know it is 33 inches long, and I can see no hallmarks as yet, so it may be Indian or European in origin, we shall see.
Will update next week, can't wait!

    UPDATE-
I met the gent, and unfortunately he did not have time to talk much about his motorbikes.
But... the silver cane is hallmarked for Birmingham 1887, and is definitely ivory. The sale said it was bone handle, but it lacks the black blood vessels found in bone. That is why I latched onto the very low priced sale in the first place.
Maker identified as Henry Matthews, a little damage made it hard to read.
I will upload a couple more pics as soon as postimage has finished updating their website!

Thanks R4F, meeting the seller today at the train station in his home town. He is in his 70's, and it was his father's stick, and HIS father's before him! He does not collect antiques or the like, but has a few vintage motorbikes, and with luck I may talk him into showing these to me! :)

Thanks for the loves, my friends.
