Hello everyone.
Just something to show you that I hope you will enjoy seeing.
There was an antique fair on just after PeeJay (our greyhound) came to live with us so naturally we were on the lookout for anything greyhound related. We asked every dealer who was there if they had anything and the answer was no, they rarely see any.....until we got to the second last dealer who didn't have anything either but then the last dealer suddenly held up his hand and said I only have this one!
We fell in love with it immediately and knew we wouldn't be likely to find another so we bought it even though it was fairly expensive , sometimes you just have to splash out on something so special:-))
Not marked but guaranteed to be 18ct and very solid, I think the pictures should show the quality of the piece!

The dog has been perfectly made with that sheepish, cute, and lovable look typical of greyhounds. They make wonderful pets!

I looked at that spot on the collar, but it doesn't seem to be letters or numbers that I could make out unfortunately!

I love this pin as I have greyhounds also. They make the best pets/couch potatoes ;) Our two will get the 'zoomies' and then nap for hours and take over the entire couch. Thank you for sharing this lovely pin!

How great you have greyhounds too, they really are wonderful pets aren't they. Gosh, those zoomies! The first time PeeJay did that I had no idea what was happening. .....it was hysterical. .....can't imagine two of them doing it at the same time lol. Not much playing happening at the moment, it has been quite hot here and PeeJay does not cope very well.

Yes, the 'zoomies' are all fun and games until somebody breaks a leg! That's what happened when one of mine, mid-zoomies, launched himself off the couch and straight into the breakfast bar. It was a few years ago, so he's all smiles now :) It is pretty hysterical to watch, particularly when they come to a dead stop momentarily, before zooming off again - then rinse and repeat several more times, then sleep for 5 hours! Yes, it's hot here too, so mine are definitely asleep most of the time at the moment. So happy you were able to find a Greyhound piece. I don't see them come along very often - I always seem to find Scotty dogs or Dachshund pieces!

Yes, vintage greyhound anything is so hard to find so if you do see something you have to grab it for sure! We were in an antique store today and they had something of every other breed I am sure except greyhound!!
I love these dog collectibles but sometimes they are almost impossible to find. My boss had schipperke dogs and I could find nothing of course. I had an ace up my sleeve however and a friend was a totally amazing artist and carved a beautiful statuette from a photo. I could never believe her amazing talent. I just love that you were able to find this hat pin, so rare also.
Hi Phil, I just had to google as I had not heard of schipperke before! What a gorgeous dog it is, no wonder you could not find anything collectable, but to have an artist carve a statuette for you from a photo is just amazing!!

Hi Pascale! Haha, thanks this is great! And it is almost exactly what PeeJay does too! The only thing she has never done is to get on the bed or the lounge, probably because she has a bed in our bedroom, in the lounge room and one for her in the back yard to catch the sun on, as well as one in what we call her "safe house" that she retreats to if she gets worried!
She is so funny when she talks which is usually to let us know that it is time for lunch, or for a walk, or for the 3 of us to go and sit in the lounge room together.....she likes this the most!! I could talk about her all day, she is just so special to us:-)) )
