Hello I have this cut stone and it's another I have collected and cleaned, not sure what it is but it's spectacular and would surely look great as a small ring. As can be seen night & day the stone looks totally diff colour.

If it is not glass, it is amethyst. Not sure I could make the determination even if I had it in my hand; from pix I really can't tell. The edges where the facets meet look pretty sharp to me, so maybe genuine stone.

Thanks cameo I will try to get a better pic tomorrow as the back ground is blue and should be white, is sharp edges a good thing to look out for then.

I think this is a too pink for Amethyst. Might be a synthetic Alexandrite, or synthetic Color change sapphire.

Ok thanks lit I couldn't work out why they look so different with different lighting.
