Just bought this Decatur, IL Police Department retired badge. At first glance it looks like it is gold plated silver and feels like it is heavy enough too. How ever with a specific gravity of only 7.8 we know that it is just gold colored base metal. Still a nice old retirement badge. The newer ones have enameled centers.
