1943 Hungarian stateless travel document issued to a refugee from former Yugoslavian territory (born in the city of Ada) and now living, with his family, in Budapest. October of that year they managed to obtain the right life-saving transit visas enabling them to reach Istanbul via the Balkan States - and once reaching Turkey, receiving the British visa for the Mandate. In 1943 the Axis States realized their dire situation with siding with the loosing side, and began to lift restrictions previously imposed on their fellow Jewish citizens, such as immigration to British Palestine; this too was a way for them to signal to the Allies their desire for possible contact...
