Trying to find a date of manufacture for my antique children's school desk. I've seen a few images on the net that look similar but all have inkwells. This desk only has a pencil indent. It has dovetailing on the sides. I'm guessing 1920ish but not sure any information would help thanks.

It has a painted on label that says:

    New Empire Furniture
    (Moyer's??) School Supplies Limited
    Canada's School (Furnishings??)
    Since 1884
    Moncton
    Toronto
    Winnipeg
    Saskatoon
    Edmunton

It appears they were making good quality globes already by 1912, seen an ad. One thing that bothers me is their name New Empire Furniture, as Empire Furniture looks nothing at all like this desk or style. There were 100's of furniture companies in Ontario alone during the early years of this century. They virtually left few if any real records and what is left are the provincial archives in Toronto and the Library which carries extensive remains. I have a book called "Modern Furniture in Canada 1920 to 1970", and they do not even mention the name New Empire Furniture or Moyers. Maybe it is just to early for the internet to have any info left by anyone on school items manufacturers.

Wondering if " New Empire Furniture" was more of a description? Since "Empire" furniture was popular in Europe in late 1800's. Your best bet might be to research Moyers.

      A quick search found this:
      Name Moyer School Supplies Limited
      Nationality Canadian
Occupation Manufacturer of school supplies and school desks
Notes The Moyer School Supplies Limited company began in 1___.
The company was located at Toronto, Moncton, Montreal, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Edmonton.
In 1937-1938, they had a catalogue.
      Hope that helps

I think this is a great children's furniture, I really like this table. I think it will be convenient for children who come from school to do homework at this table. When I was in school, I had my own room and a desk where I could do my homework. After school, I went to college. I have been studying for two years in college and wrote a lot of complex work. You can write your thesis by going to this website https://papersowl.com/write-my-thesis, I think a thesis is one of the most difficult works in college and I will be happy to help you in writing it. If you have any questions, you can find all the answers on our website. We will also be happy to help students solve any other issue related to the college, school or university. This service will be an excellent assistant to you throughout the educational process, I hope this information was useful for you, good luck to you.

This is already a museum piece. It is valuable not only for you but for human culture in general. I believe that over time, even more people will respect their culture, and not treat it as some kind of appendage from the past. My favorite topic for my essays is reflection. By the way, if someone is wondering what to include in an appendix, here is the answer https://essayhub.com/blog/how-to-write-an-appendix-explained-with-ease After all, in order to be heard, we need to be able to present, and an essay is a good way to build a base of arguments.
