Art Deco Men’s Scarves

This is a group of ten Men’s scarves that date from the 30’s to 50’s. Scarves were usually worn between the overcoat and the dress shirt when the weather was cold or rainy to protect the suite and more expensive necktie. Most of the examples have fringe at both ends. Typically the fabric was Rayon or an early Acetate, never cotton or wool. All have Art Deco patterns, even the Paisley inspired example use color in a modern way . When I add to my collection I look for strong patterns with geometric shapes and vivid colors !
