    what is this shape called? i have a lot of Imari bowls now, and i think this is the best one. i knew it was Edo when i first spotted it before i turned it over. I think that the aubergine [lavendar] color makes this piece special. the drawing and rocky crags are really wonderful too.

      thanks Caper. yes, i believe it's Edo period.

      from what i've been told this is 1810-1830. it's a very good piece. the flower signature is indicative of mid to late edo period and good quality.

      it could be actually i thought it is even earlier, hard to say
