Fabulous Peacock

This lovely peacock was in the window of a charity shop today and caught my eye BIG time. He was only €8 so of course I had to take him. He's actually heavy and made out of brass so as soon as I got him home I shone and polished him up with brasso and he shines beautifully now!
There's no mark or makers name anywhere on him- so any information about where he's from or what he's used for would be greatly appreciated!
