Antique 19c Stoneware Blinking Goat Figurine
I found this figure at my mums and I really like it as it has charm and I would say it was well made. The goat has one eye open and the other closed, which adds to the charm as looks like it is blinking. I know the figure is old and at least late Victorian but believe from the look of the figure it may be Georgian and early to mid 1800s, due to general age related condition. Item is made from pottery and I believe it is called stoneware or chalkware, it has been decorated by hand painting. It has markings underneath which I can not find or work out, so please can you help. Can you please help with the maker or where it was made? Help with dating it would also be helpful and all help on the piece would be gratefully appreciated. 6.5” x 5” Lee
