She has composition shoulder head on a cloth stuffed body with composition arms and legs (from the thigh down). Her bangs have slight part right in the middle. Painted molded hair (blond), sleep eyes (looks like brown) with hair lashes, and she is fully jointed. closed pouty mouth; fiber stuffed cloth body with inoperable voice box; She also has heart bracelet that reads “Effanbee Durable Dolls”. Marked at base of head is "EFFANBEE/LOVUMS/C (in a circle)/PAT. NO 1283558. Along with the pink dress she is wearing, I have a jumper, Wool Coat and Hat, Another Pink Dress with bonnet, A White Dress with green dots, A Sleeveless dress with green red and gold on it, Not sure what came with doll or were they made for her by my Aunt. I have no idea what Year she was made or her name if any? Any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you Savoychina1, I had been to that site and thought she looked very much like the 1928-1940 Patsy Lou, but mine is 21" tall so that is what threw me as they said she was 22" to 22 1/2 ". Mine also has blond painted molded hair and brown eyes. Do you know if Patsy Lou came in different sizes and color hair??

Sorry, I dont know much about dolls. I just try to point folks in the right direction. It says they were produced from 1928-1937 and re-issued fro 1977-1980. That is a lot of possible variations. Hope this helped.

FG09--You may not know what you have but I have never seen such a fine description of a vintage doll here from anybody! Good luck!

Flea, thank you I appreciate the compliment and wishes, my writing ability comes from being an anaylst at my past job! LOL

Maybe it is a Patsy Lou and they got the size wrong? Only an inch off...maybe their model was stretched on a rack by a child related to the Addams Family?

Flea, after I stopped laughing at your last comment (I always watched the Addams Family when I was a kid) I re-measured my doll and she really is 22"! So, that said she may be a Patsy Lou with blond hair. Thanks so much for making me re-check!

In re looking at the Effanbee website I noted these things. The patent number you list IS for the LOVUM doll. However if you read about the PATSY they discovered in1946 some marked PATRICIA dolls with PATSY heads. So it would appear that you have a LOVUM (marked) doll body with a PATSY (matches) head.

What is the link to the Effanbee website? The site I looked at was no help. Everywhere I have looked (countless hrs) searching on the web I cannot find my exact doll. The hair is what is not like any other Patsy Doll I have seen.

if you click on the link in my first entry it will take you there. Then scroll down to PATSY and then to LOVUM. Your dolls face looks like Patsy except for the color of the hair. Since they list a range of years perhaps there was a modification.

here is a different website. It verifies my thought that Patsy may have had different color hair.

She might be a later version of Baby Dainty. Many times the molds were interchangeable, and I noticed the Baby Dainty used a Patsy mold later on. Which ever doll she is, she seems to be from the Patsy family. Here is a link and I cached the key words to show you how the Luvum mold was used many times.

And here is the Skater doll

I have an effanbee dolls patent 1283558 with molded hair, doll's eyes with eyelashes and open mouth exposing 4 teeth. She has a device sewn into her body at the back that seems like it would make the doll cry when tipped, but it doesn't work. She has 1 broken finger, a couple of cracks by her knees and a dime size piece missing from her right outer leg. Is there anything you can tell me about her? Is she valuable enough to consider having her restored/repaired?
I would be most curious as the doll belonged to my mother in law who is no longer living and I have no history about the doll.
      Awaiting an answer,
      Sincerely, Susan Lesser
