When ever i see a knife such as yours, my first thought is always the filipino negrito people, that still make knives from old USA vehicle leaf springs. You could also add the word "bolo" knife to your searches. Just my WAG tho.

Just an update on my research.....I feel cofident that the knife was made in Burma and possibly during WW II.....I only found one similar knife ....exact blade style.....similar wooden sheath....and same braiding on the sheath...the knife I found was for sale on ebay and was identified as being a weapon used by the JingPaw Rangers on Burma which was the Burmese resistance to the Japanese occupation.......commanded by the Americans but was a fighting force made up of Burmese soldiers....a very decorated fighting force....still researching.....but that is what I know so far.....very possible....just an update....Randy

Thanks for the update rdhoush! I think you are on to something, and would love to know what you find out about it. Burma sounds like a very good possibility!
