I had long searched for an accurate (and functional) antique alarm clock, as it was a very needed thing if I'm to obtain my dream of an early 1900s period-correct home.

Whilst searching for one a few months ago, I saw this one on eBay. The seller services and sells clocks, and this one was priced less than a normal servicing of a regular clock, so I went for it.

The alarm is a bit off (shows 4:30 but actually rings at about 4:20) but it hasn't missed a beat (though sometimes it makes odd noises, which I think is the arm retracting and striking against the stop-lever(?)). It's louder than my neighbour, for which I'm sometimes grateful, when it's ticking, so at night I often wrap it up in a light jacket as the bell is still clearly heard through that.

The seller listed it as a c. 1926 Westclox, but also admitted the dial is a reproduction (close inspection shows it an extremely well-done reproduction in terms of how it was printed), but the patents are very early 1900s. So, who knows.

Whatever it is, the clock is a very welcome addition and wakes me up every morning for work (though I usually wake up before it as my body has an internal alarm of its own).

pw-collector, thank you. It appears to be the c. 1928-1929 model.
