My only remaining pet is a 12 year old goldfish with black mould and a tail tumour. These are much cuter, cleaner, and are not expected to expire anytime soon.
Made from wood (!), plastic, and leather, they are beautifully made.
They range from about 8cm high to 15cm.
I believe these were made in the late 60s but haven't confirmed it yet.
This is the full set of Royal Pets, and all came in their original boxes.
1. Mandarin duck, seal, woodpecker, condor, dachshund.
2. Deer, kangaroo, monkey, hippo, lion.
3. Elephant, giraffe, squirrel, hatching ostrich, rhino.
4. Pelican, parrot, penguin, bear, owl. And box.
Adorable Karen, love them all but being partial to birds my faves are the birds esp parrot & pelican. Great post!
Beautiful collection, wow !
In all my years, that may be the first condor figurine I've seen - fantastic. Super collection - thanks.
Fantastic!
wow these are so cool ! love love
Thanks Everyone for the love and comments.
Ken: the hippo scored highly with my family too. It's jaw even moves!
Jenni: The parrot has just the right sort of smart arsed look about it. I have cockatoos around here just the same.
Phil: thanks, glad you like them!
Artfoot: I thought condor was a different sort of choice too. The box and bookmark definitely name it as a condor. Quite cool really.
Anik: They are, and thanks!
Mani: They are definitely designed to make us smile. Thanks for the love!
Aw Karen, these are fantastic!! Love them:-) )
FABULOUS !!!
sooo stunning!!!!
Thanks Judy, Kevin and Sean.
Glad you all love them!
Hi Karen, they are very cute.
Thanks Jean, cute they are!
Every one of these is a delight to behold, LOVE them! Thanks for sharing the family~~~!
Really neat set!!
Thanks so much Budek! I'm spoilt for choice for a favourite :)
Thanks MrsT!
lovely finding
Very interesting. The reason you don't see these very often is they come to life at night and wander off.Put some food by there bed and the tv on with reruns of Bambi and they shouldn't go anywhere.Whoops it's time for my medicine.
Thanks Kivatinitz for the love and comment.
Jim I was wondering where all the little brown pellets had come from. Thanks for giving me the heads up! I will dig out Bambi pronto!
Oh these are all so damn cute!!! And you don't mess around...you got the whole zoo! haha Awesome. At first I thought they were the cryptomeria, and the bear looks almost like the Zoo Line but I love these and so glad you were able to get them all.
Nah not cryptomeria, haven't got the lines. Something else wood lol.
I agree that the ZooLine influence seems there, although these are more kawaii than funky.
So glad to hear from you Sue! I've been in and out of CW this year so I miss stuff. Prod me if you don't see me around!
Have a great Christmas and try and get fat will ya!!
Karen! These critters are absolutely adorable! Lucky you to get this bunch :-)
Friendly bubbles to your old goldfish pet :-)
Happy Holidays :-D
