This teapot turned up in a charity shop a few years ago. I've forgotten the price of it now but I'm sure it was cheap. I'm sure there's some sort of legend or myth depicted on the side of it- if anyone recognises the picture I'd be happy to know. As for the age of it and so forth I'm not sure about that either.
Shouxing (also known as Shoulao) is the god of longevity, one of three star gods in Chinese beliefs. His most recognisable feature is his pronounced bald head and long beard, and he carries the 'peach of immortality'. Statues of Shouxing are popular birthday gifts for elders.
