The inner base of Coit Tower is lined with murals created during the New Deal as part of the Public Works of Art Project. These murals were painted in 1934, a year after the Tower was completed.
This mural by Victor Arnautoff is called, "City Life." It's description is both above in a picture, and below.
"Such familiar San Francisco buildings as City Hall, the Main Library, the Legion of Honor, and the Stock Exchange watch over the hectic urban scene, which includes an accident and a robbery."
Part of my excursion to Coit Tower.
I enjoy your day trips around the city. It is humorous to note that on your thumbnail pictures you are listed as "Bayareamuse". (Jewelagejewelry gave me a doubletake as "Jewelagejew" !) Ain't life GRAND. :)
