i am trying to figure this watch out,, my grandfather came from Denmark in 1917 this watch he has had in a safe till 1980. When he died my grandmother kept it and when she died in 1994 it was given to us. My grandfather was told by his grandfather that it belonged at one time to Abraham Lincoln, there are bunch of initials in the case, and on the movement it says 7004 beesely Liverpool but the name is different,, its what i can see, Beesely Not Beesley ,the museum in Milwaukee in 1979 said it was English origin but made 1840 to 1850.No body can confirm anything even ncwa, they said it wasn't English. the movement is the same exact as Abraham Lincolns even the 1601 in the back the are initials Ja 781,, n601 ,22258 ,n7638d,Wh 645 its hard to read them, on all three sides it has 1408 then below a 18 then below that 7004 on both sides it has a lion so i dont know i guess ill have to go to Denmark. There are 3 articles written in 1937 that Henry ford bid on it we have one of the original papers but nobody seems to know that too so hopefully one can point me in a different direction its a beautiful watch i wish i could show you lady liberty on the other side, but only 4 pics, thank you
I have more pictures of the watch if anybody knows anything about. There is also a copy of my original paper in the Lincoln financial relics clothing and watches Abraham Lincoln. The article is in one of the pictures of mine about Henry ford bidding on the watch..
