The American LaFrance Fire Pumper Truck was introduced in 1966 and was sold through 1970. It is probably one of the most common Matchbox cars. They made several fire truck models but only this one is the iconic fire pumper.
As this has an E Style box it is from 1966-1968.
The end flap picture probably came in handy for toy store employees. There would be a carousel display of all the cars and the cars were all kept under the counter. You point to which one you want and the clerk would hopefully get the right one. Drug stores would sell a carded version so they wouldn't walk off by themselves..
In the last photos I have it with my Matchbox Fire Station. Matchbox didn't make many accessories so the Fire Station would be a nice thing to have.
Great fire station
Fire engine and station: perfect coupling.

Super little fire truck, unique! I can't tell from your photos, is yours marked Denver like the one on the box?
Thank you very much katherinescollections. Sadly I used the wrong truck and the one that goes with the box has "Denver" on it. Otherwise they are the same.
Thank you Tanni.
Thank you SEAN68.
