How to I learn if this is a real period piece or a newer reproduction? It was my mother's and I am not sure how she came to have it.

There are so many reproductions out there. This looks to be antique, but I'm not an expert. Anyone know how to tell?
I think it could be a recent reproduction out of China. I saw a large blue and white charger for sale in a charity shop with a back stamp similar to yours, and though I didn’t buy it I checked it out online later, and was convinced it wasn’t genuine.
I don't think it could be a recent reproduction out of china. I have had it for 2o years
They have been faking marks for years and there’s no place of origin, which would be very unusual on Victoria pottery. Here is a great resource for Stoke on Trent pottery in Staffordshire , and actually has an examples of fake marks, unfortunately one of them appears to be the same as yours
