A Copper Tea Pot. It was my grandfathers and grandmothers and as far back as I can remember it sat on a china cabinet for years. Until she gave it to me. Only one of my favorite of many pieces from her. It is a very Neat piece to have around!!! And I know nothing about it. Except it is copper and you can heat water or what ever with the candle. I have never seen it used. I really do enjoy my old stuff that I do not know much about!!! I wish so much that I had asked about the things she gave to me and my mom.
I do not dust it afraid it will hurt it?
Would love to hear comments.
It’s really lovely. I don’t think dusting will hurt it, though I wouldn’t polish it. I think experts like the patina of age on old copper items? (I watch too many Antique roadshows!).
I should watch Antique Road Shows!!! I have no one to share my Gram And Gramps treasures with here at home... So this is a Great Start. Thank You for your Comment. Now I need a duster...
It's lovely. What a nice gift. Indeed, dusting won't hurt-- but chemicals may remove or add to the patina, and most people do like it to be natural, so follow AdeleC's advice to not polish it (or clean with chemicals).
Thank You Thank You Thank You. Patina? I will look it up! I have heard it but not sure exactly what it is and why people like it?
