When I opened this box of my mothers things I immediately felt recognition of these pieces but I can not remember where I saw them when I was a child. The red bridge is the only metal piece and the only one marked, occupied Japan. The rest are what I call chalk ware, some are in pretty rough shape but I am already envisioning a diorama using these. So strange that there are little headstones in the mix. And I love the huts on stilts. Anyone ever see these types of items before?
( I have been trying to change my picture for a while and I keep getting an error from Collectors Weekly. Any suggestions? thanks)
They are so interesting cindyjune, I like their rough shapes, & being an animal lover it's fun to figure them out....I see a monkey, camel, birds etc. Very nice!
Thx Newfld! I had such an amazing reaction when I saw these, wish I could remember where I had seen them when I was a little sprout. I like collecting little things, as you may have noticed the dime in the picture, these pieces aren't very large. Thanks for your comment!
