After rummaging through our attic I came across this metal cooler. I forgot all about it. It was my great grandfather's. I have been looking over the internet for the history behind it, but have struck out. I have found the tradionally red ones, but NONE in white. I am starting to think I have a rare one on my hands. It was manufactured by Acton MFG. CO. Inside is galvanized. Raised lettering on the bottom. There are some what I call "wear" dents and dings, but nothing major. Considering the age of it. Anyone out there know of anywhere I can look for research on the year and history. I would appreciate it.

Did they make Dr. Pepper versions of these coolers?

Thank you Ray, I was a little discouraged when I read cocacolakid97's post. I have scourged the internet for the past 3 days and have yet to run into one like I have. About 8 years ago I saw one advertised on ebay, but haven't yet to see another. I am beginning to wonder if it was like a salesman special or store display. I did some research or what I could on the patents on the bottom and 2 out of the 3 numbers match the red ones that are out there but the third did not. The imaging on the .gov website were disabled. Or would not show up. Long story any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you Ray for the research. It has been very helpful. It has been listed, but after reading this it is listed a bit high. It is still a neat piece.

Yeah, I make mistakes all the time. That's why I usually state that people should wait until Ray or earlycoke come and comment. I'm still learning.

I was wondering what Ray was able to share with you about the cooler...I have a similar one, but it's cream colored with Red lettering...in a bit better condition. It was my father's cooler...figure it's from the 1940's or 1950's...I haven't been able to find any info on it...the inside is also galvanized...any help would be appreciated..thanks..

My brother has one almost identical to this except it is red and I am wondering if you could tell me the year it was made? Thanks
