These two were spotted in a very recent visit to a charity shop and only cost me about €1. Both elephant figures seem to have been through the wars because both are missing their little tusks (they only have two holes left) and the foot on the first elephant is damaged with a hole in it. The only problem with these is I cant tell what material they may be made from. It's a hard brown material that seems to be fibrous (I can tell from the damaged foot) and appears to be slightly see through if held up to the light? The only reason I'm asking this is I REALLY hope it isn't tortoise shell? I'm not able to tell but at a guess I'd have to say it could be but I have my doubts.
They are beautiful elephants Lauren, look like African art, nice post
Thanks Newfld!
I love these elephants! I have one that is also missing his tusks, I guess that must be the most fragile part. Your almost look like stone.
