We have had some quite hot days here and I have been hiding indoors, sorting stuff, as you do.
I needed to organise my jewellery and brooches were the first job. If you didn't know, my jewellery collection has accrued over lots of years, generally at little cost, and most of it has little value.
It is still a fun collection I think!
These four trays show nothing particularly rare or interesting, and many I no longer wear.
I really tried to clear some out, but there are so many left! What to do? What to do?
I decided they can stay.
At least they don't take up much room!
Aren't brooches fun! As you said, they don't take up much room, so relatively guilt - free, as well. I have a few myself, mostly early plastic & some glass. I especially like the Bakelite (I think) hand in the first photo...
Lovely collection, some great animals in there
OMG!I'm really impressed!Their strength lies in the number so you can't get out of them!
Goodness Karen!! I thought I had a lot of brooches lol! You have some lovely pieces!
I did the same when we were unpacking.....went through all the costume jewellery and sorted it into trays for the different categories. ......and I still haven't got rid of any lol........how bad are we!!
The animalia is wonderful, fascinated by the dinosaur, that must be hard to find, and probably seeing my first here. I hope that showcase in pic #2 has a glass top. Superb collection you have !!~
Thanks everyone, glad you enjoyed them!
Iron Lace - yes, the hand is bakelite, and as far as I know the only bakelite piece I have. You can probably tell that quite a few of these brooches are from the 80s.
Thanks Jenni! Animals and brooch go well together.
Lol Ivonne. I can't get rid of any, you are correct, they would attack me!
Judy - is it good or sad I have so many? They make me smile to look at, I get annoyed I am such a hopeless collector!
Ken - he's awesome and I still wear him. Pewter, as are most of the animal silver ones.
Phil - thanks! My 3 showcases have glass tops, but necessity has made me make a second layer for two of them, so I still can't see them all. No matter!
What a very cool collection of brooches Karen!! BTW, tomorrow's high temperature, here is Kentucky, will be 15*F (-9*c).
Thank you Oh Best brooch Collector! I have nothing like your beauties but as you say, fun fun fun! Thanks so much Ms Crystal.
Kentucky sound way too cold, keep warm Scott, and thanks for the love!
Thanks Mary, I love my bodies, and the ocky is warn regularly!
Wow, Karen! What a bunch of cuties :-)
So many fun pieces, and as you said they don't take a lot of room to keep them all.
I too can't get enough of brooches ;-D
cheap stuff is most fun!
Thanks Pascale and Lentilka. Cheap and fun and small - what could be better!
These are such cheerful fun pieces :-) I would save them too !
Thanks for the upvote Manikin!
