A really cool vase from the great glass master Iwata Kuri.
The base glass is an interesting shade of brownish red, with a touch of tangerine. Over that spattered lines of silver with black specks have been added. Four black curled prunts have been placed above the swell of the body, and the whole has been sand blasted to give a matte finish.
So different, so Japanese, so wonderful.
Height: 24cm
Beautiful vase from all angles, love the design & cheerful color
No need for me to comment.......your last line nails it :)
Love the shape and colors Karen. Why do the Japanese seem to make everything look so delectable ...it's like marzipan ! :)
Different... And very nice! I love the color and the satin finish!
Thanks Jenni, the colour is so different!
Peggy, you nailed it too. Thanks.
When I look at some Japanese glass I see a relationship with early Czech glass, not surprising at all considering the influence the Czechs had generally. I'm glad you enjoy the Japanese interpretation.
It does look edible Mike, you are so right! Thanks for the love and comment mate!
Thanks Pascale. It's always interesting to see the way Japanese do things, and in glass it means different!
It just sits there and all one wants to do is buy it ! The design and colour is all very beautiful !~
Love the colours and shape in this, quite Bohemian looking!....:-)
adore the black roses
Thanks Phil, Inky and Kivatinitz. I always appreciate your appreciation!
Hey mama!!! Miss the heck outta you!!! Last weekend, I watched something on some learning channel about Japanese makers and guess what, I can't remember but one thing about it atm...and that would be that I kept thinking about you!!! haha
I'll remember one day so don't be surprised when out of the blue I come up with it and make the comment that will see out of nowhere!!! But that's me and that's what I do.
(been having a time trying to keep miss daisies pressure low, it was 198 over 90 the other day. Surprised she's still here!!!)
Keep the pressure down! Please!
I though of you the other day too. This skinny (!) American native woman was on a local show about food and she was happy, excitable and cool. See? You!!
BEAUTIFUL vase!
