This little vase is 3.5 inches tall and very pretty, i think. blue interior and blue vase with 'CHINA' painted on it. Nice yellow ground with brightly colored leafy lotus designs. could be a modern repro, but not sure. ??

Yours is the type of items i like to find. It's a real gem this little vase. This CHINA mark predates 1920-21 and is likely 1910-1920 era and gets us away from many of the more modern post war character stamps. It is also fun to find this mark with the N reversed in image. I've only ever found bowls and cups, and think your 100 year old vase is just great in size, form and color. I don't see it as later Euro or UK export without the "Made in" laws, but rather an early American import. Especially with that retro blue and what looks like some good iron oxidization in the open clay surface on the bottom. After the early 20's, lots of this stuff was smashed to bits at customs if it didn't say "Made in" but some did slip bye. Your piece is very well painted. It doesn't have that rushed production look. Gotta love it.
