    Okay - I'm convinced now. I am reasonably sure that this "Made in California" backstamp can be connected to Metlox. There is enough difference between the Orchard rooster and the Metlox rooster to convince me that both Pete's plate and my blue one are Metlox products. That notation, along with the "Skinny Rooster" confirmation should probably be added to your reference material.

      Thanks Bill - it was fun. I don't mind being wrong when I learn something in the end. I hope these exchanges demonstrate some of the process we go through to identify even the most mundane objects that pique our interests.
