This is a very interesting early guide to Victorian era Washington City, (DC). It is a fold out hardback book with wonderful lithographic illustrations of the capital. With the attention to detail and fine lithographs, they may have been given to visiting dignitaries as a guide to the capital. It must be rare, as I can't seem to find another example anywhere on line. I am hoping to find out more information about it. If anyone is knowledgeable and can help, I would greatly appreciate it...

Nice lithographic views.
These mid to late 19th century "city views" and "city guides" were very popular. I have seen them for many major cities (NYC, DC....). Since they were originally made as a souvenir item, many have survived well.
I don't know the original numbers made on your piece.

Thank you so much for the help. I figured that it was used as a tourist reference guide or souvenir. The Washington City must be somewhat scarce; I couldn't find another example. Nothing on a google search; Even Abe Books had nothing...
