Stopped by our local rock shop to support our local rock shop plus buy a rock. Found this chunk with large crystals. Not quite up there with my last one that looked like a desert but nice. This one not only has large crystals but they are purple just like every remaining clear piece of EAPG is.
This piece is about 4 1/2" long. It looks to be a bit like a geode. Looks like a plain rock on the bottom with nice crystals on top.

I'd put my money on "Amethyst Crystals". Love these. Need one for my Rock collection. Good pickup.

Yep, it's amethysist all right! It's actually the inside of the rock. That's how crystals grow. My niece sells these all day long!!! It's also her birthstone and she's got tons of them all different sizes. She about flipped though when she saw mine. The one I have has been cut to be bookends. Pretty large too. I'll post it soon.
