This little Imari plate is only 3.5" across, but has retained it's gilded rim very well. I heard that the busier the bottom of an Imari piece is, the better it is. I don't know how much truth there is to that, but this one has a pretty busy bottom! any info appreciated!
This is an Edo period piece of Daishoji - i'm certain.
well i am also certain, and this is far better then you think
thanks apostata. i've had a good feeling about this little gem since i got it.
the more i see the more i like it Pete, i think it is a quite rare daishoji imari variation
and i got the ludicrous idea the f,,,,, up an taimin seika nensei mark
very nice
thanks apostata! this is a really small plate.
