Through a fortunate confluence of events, both pieces of this set appeared on the market at the same time - one on eBay, and one on Etsy. I guess sometimes, to be in the right place at the right time, you have to be in two places at once. :) Easier to do when the places are virtual!

The yellow bowl is "gerippt" (ribbed), drawn into 12 points, and has a foot that allows it to fit neatly into the well of the under plate. The oval Czecho-Slovakia mark is stamped within the polished pontil. It's about 9" in diameter from point to point.

The plate is silberiris on the inside, and cobalt papillon on the outside (see third photo), and it also has a 12 pointed rim. Its diameter is about 12" from point to point.

It looks like the cobalt silberiris interior was meant to mimic the reflective surface of a pond, reflecting the brilliant yellow Lotus flower floating above. (see second photo)

The underplates show up (in various sizes) from time to time, but the bowls are a little harder to find. When I saw this one, I knew I had to grab it. Fortunately the right sized under plate was available at the same time. Happy Hunting!

I've seen the underplate on a number of occasions and could never really fathom it. Never knew there was a bowl to sit in it, lol. Makes sense now. Thank you, it's gorgeous.

      Hi Warren,
What size bowl would fit the 12" plate? Edna
    9. Sammyz Sammyz, 5 years ago
      Hi Warren,

I have the 6" version of this plate. Have you ever seen a bowl that might fit it?

Alas, and as usual, now I have the plate but not the bowl!
