This is something I picked up at the Rock Shop along with my last rock. As it was blue I figured it was older and turns out I was right. Found a site that showed the various "Ball" logos and this one is from 1923-1933 which is all good.
Let me check out the inside of the lid. Hmmm it has the Hazel-Atlas makers mark that was first used in 1923 which matches it up with the jar. One will note the Rock Shop does not find their items at estate sales or auctions. Tends to be outside or abandoned buildings thus the lid is not mint. Personally I like that. Along the edge of the lid it says "Genuine Boyd's Cap For Mason Jar".
Now to figure out what to put in it. Needs to be filled with vintage stuff.
Beautiful color, classic Hazel Atlas glass - nice find
This is pretty cool. Reminds me of the days that we'd go to my Grandparent's house and she'd cook for us. She canned everything from peaches to pork in Ball jars. I'm sure that canning meat stemmed from the days when there was no refrigeration. But, I do remember the pork tenderloin was the best I've ever had.
Thank you very much Newfld. I hear the clear colored ones are newer.
