This is some of my collection of glass hand vases. Some are Victorian, others are mid - later 20th century. From a variety of makers & countries including Bohemia, Taiwan, India, France, Romania, Portugal & possibly others too.
What a collection!!! It must have taken forever to acquire it!
SWEEEEEET ! Looks like you need a lot more room. Some huge antique table to display these gems on. I dont have any myself, but I always have liked this style, actually I might have one in Parian somewhere. Thanks for posting the pictures of your collection. Post more.
Many thanks, freiheit...this is just a small section of my hand vases...there are a lot more! I started collecting them in 1995...took me ages to get only a few, then I discovered online shopping... :-)
Thanks also, rockbat. More to come eventually!
Wow, cool freaky collection!
Left-handers rather under-represented, wouldn't you say?
Thanks iggy!
Yes Wow22, left handed hand vases are indeed quite rare. I have only a few out of a very large collection. Rarest of all is to find a matching pair in right & left versions...pairs of hand vases are not too hard to find, but almost always they are two right hands.
Stunning collection IL!
Thank so much, racer4four! The collection was featured on the former ABCTV show Collectors in 2010.
Great Collection! Nicely Displayed :)
Many thanks, buckethead!
Wow! IronLace, what a great display of these hand vases! :^D Very beautiful!
I wanted to thank you for the help with the glass compote candy dish. It is Murano, and I found a chandelier that has parts that look just like it! It's from the 1880's. Please stop by and check it out again, I have a link to the chandelier, and more information about it too! :^)
Thanks so much, billretirecoll, glad you're enjoying them!
And my pleasure to be of help with the ID on your piece - great to see that you've found out more about it, too.
When ever I see one of these vases I can’t help but think of you..do you still collect them?
:-) Thanks, inky!
Yes, I still collect them, but haven't got one in a while...the most recent was in October last year. Probably because I have most of them already...there's only a few more rare variations that I'm still looking for. And there's so much other fabulous glass to collect, too! :-)
I just wanted to say how good it is not to see a Cocola or a Shell sign on the front page. Keep it to yourself eh!
What do the rare ones look like, if I came across something I could send it your way?
That's most kind of you, inky! I will have to put together a post featuring the ones still on my "bucket list"...
