Well you go to the local Car Boot and find nothing then today I,m walking around and came across a Chinese/ Japanese Bowl in satsuma colours which makes me think its Japanese rather than Chinese it is approx 12 inches in dia (english inches) and 3.5 inches deep mainly in a rusty red with gilding showing warriors ? on the outside is a repeating pattern see picture and below this there has been some more gilding which has rub/faded over the years to the base no marks apart from what looks like a black letter "N" to the inside of the foot rim, it is heavy in construction hard /soft paste? and the bowl is in good condition with no cracks or chips but shows sign of age ,fading, wear and tear .Would love to find out more information ie date ,pattern name, artist, and any other info would be of great interest .
Thankyou
it looks like Kutani from Arita. nice!
oops! looks like soft paste, so some kind of Satsuma, maybe?
this is unfortunately very mediocre, and i am an optimist
