This was a Yard Sale find in Santa Rosa, California a few weeks ago. I don't know who made it, and its unmarked, any ideas?
I just got it because I like the look of the Rose Bowl, and the way the sun light changed the color of the glass.
The Crystal Rose Bowl is 6" high, 6 1/2" wide, a 2 3/4" opening, and 3 1/4" across the bottom. It has a block optic design, and is very heavy.
Thank you for looking, any comments, or questions are welcome! :^)
Thanks for taking a look fortapache, and giving some love! :^)
Judy, and Kevin, I'm glad that you could see this crystal rose bowl, and love it as I do! Thanks to the both of you! :^)
Thank you both for the love, mikelv85, and AdeleC, so nice to get! :^)
Bill do you think it may have some neodymium in it? Is the colour different under fluorescent light?
Oh Karen, I hadn't thought of checking this one under a black light, but i will later and let you know what I see! If you meant fluorescent light, no it looks the same lavender color, the change is from fluoride in the glass, reacting with the sunlight, over time! Thanks for your comment! :^)
Thank you for looking, and loving what you saw, Roy, Penny, and Karen, always nice to get! :^)
Hey Karen, I just checked out what neodymium was, I never knew that it changed color in glass, with different spectrums of light! Cool! Thanks I learned something! :^D The rose bowl doesn't though! :^)
I looked at this Crystal Rose Bowl under a black light, and there was no noticeable color change. :^)
I was mistaken, it's the manganese dioxide, that's put in glass to make it clearer that causes it to turn lavender, or purple, in sun light, not fluoride! :^)
Thanks for checking Bill. I wasn't sure from the picture and the post whether it was possibly neodymium or not.
Neo glass is pretty cool (as are any neo stones).
Doesn't matter it's not; in fact I think it's even cooler that time and UV have changed it to that lovely colour!
You're welcome Karen, lots of times you'll find Glass Insulators, from old power, or telegraph pole wires, that have changed. The rose bowl changed because at the yard sale where I found it, the owner had left it outside in the sun for months, and the color is what caught my eye! P^) :^)
Thanks Thomas, a little love, goes a long way! :^)
A love is a good thing to get! Thank you for it aura! :^)
