I found this at my mother's house and we can't figure out what it is. It says Made In Usa No. 50. I was wondering if it lifted or grabbed something. A friend thought maybe to lift a can lid and open (canned foods). Can anyone please tell me what this is?

I think it is supposed to be used to grab hot pans out of the oven, but I can't say I know exactly what kind of pans...whether metal ones, or some variety of glass baking dishes. I hope somebody can say for sure, I have one of these in a drawer someplace too, waiting for a proper purpose?!! <lol>

Yes yes yes Tube Amp -- that's *exactly* it, thanks for breaking thru that temporary little blockage in my brain?!! (of COURSE I knew that...I worked at a Pizza Hut many years ago, and used the stupid things...that's probably where the one still in my drawer came from?!! <banghead>)

I used one of those things too but I didn't recall until I read the comments.
