In my earlier days of collecting glass, I obtained a number of these Murano glass figurines...but once I began to focus primarily on Victorian art glass a few years ago, I decided to part with them...& then this charming fellow turned up in an op shop, & I was powerless to resist.
So this is now my one & only Murano figure, & definitely the nicest of them all.
He measures 21 cm tall, & 7 cm across the black footed base. Dressed in a pink spatter glass frock coat, he has white breeches, & his outfit is trimmed with ruffles made from clear glass containing gold leaf. A black & white tricornered hat sits atop his white "powdered wig" hairstyle. He would have most likely had a lady companion but she has long gone from the grand ballroom at the court of Versailles... :-)
I confess to having quite a weakness for pink & black glass...
    Possibly by Barovier & Toso.

I agree, sklo42, these Murano figures have a uniquely Continental charm to them, they are full of exuberance & glamour...& this pink coated dandy is no exception! :-)

Sorry for the extremely late reply, Vintagefran (I think I was super busy with my last exhibition when I posted this) - many thanks!

Many thanks renedijkstra, I was happy with this find from a Salvos store for a reasonable price. It was rather funny considering I'd sold all my other Murano figures, but this one is a keeper, like it a lot!
