Very early coke bottle, one of the first ones made. these were first made around 1894 and didn't carry the famous logo. Instead this one was stamped: Brunswick Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Brunswick, GA. in 1906 the bottle was changed and carried a paper label and an embossed logo at the top. I love how this bottle looks.
My favorite type of antique bottle! You have a real treasure there.
Nice early Georgia bottle. Joseph Biedenharn of Vicksburg, Miss. is widely acknowledged as the first person to bottle and sell Coca-Cola in 1894. Brunswick Coca-Cola was founded in 1903 at 110-112 Richmond St., the former Brunswick Steam Bottling Works site. Your bottle dates to that year, maybe 1904. The Hutchinson style stoppered bottle was not used for Coca-Cola long and only 10 or so locations used them before the straight side crown top bottle became popular 1902-1915. The iconic Hobbleskirt became the standard in 1916 and the rest is history. You have a beautiful and very scarce bottle, thanks for sharing.
I see you pulled this off the web. Typically posts are pieces in the author's collection, but objects of interest are always welcome too. I agree it's an image of a great bottle.
yeah i usually do that but I love anything old so I share it anyway. Some of these items that i post from the web I actually have in my collection
I'm afraid that your professors would call it plagiarism if you don't cite your sources, even here. My info and images I leave free for everyone's use, but I have hope they would state that images and content are not their own. Otherwise, they are deceptive as people think its theirs when it's not. I've noted your doing this many times (hence I usually don't hit love or like on your posts), which used to be against CW rules (everything must be posted with permission from the owner of the image). I'm unsure if they're changed them with their acquisition, but avoid deception. Open honesty is the best policy to avoid conflict and dislike.
Wise words, Spirit.
Wow! How did you set this bottle up to get a great image of the embossed label? Great photography!
This image was found online. The photography is compliments of someone else!!
Oh....Okay.....never mind......
fooled me, too =(
100% agree w/SpiritBear. It seems completely dishonest to present *other people's stuff* as one's own. :-( :-( :-(
At the very least, I would think it a matter of common courtesy to your fellow CW Community (not to mention the actual item owner/s...?) to clearly identify any such things as "NOT MY PROPERTY"...how difficult is that??
