This is Henrietta's friend, Quincy. Quincy also came from France but via Canada, and he and Henrietta became fast friends. Quincy will put up with Henrietta's love of brocante decor and books about bears since Henrietta puts up with Quincy's love of Serge Gainsbourg. Today, they breakfasted together (honey) while reading another Michele Durkson Clise book (and what else but the book Constant Friends?) from Henrietta's library after which Quincy proposed listening to some French pop. Finally, as bears do, they climbed and frolicked before settling down for a nap. (We may get snow tonight, and they've anticipated this, going into a kind of semi-hibernation.)
This vignette is beyond sweet Laura, these two bears are totally adorable - Quincy's color makes a great photographic contrast to Henrietta's. Your posing is incredibly talented! Didn't Gainsbourg sing a duet with Brigitte Bardot long ago (I was a big foreign film fan at one time)
Thank you so much, Jenni! I so appreciate your compliments and kind comments. And yes! "Bonnie and Clyde" was pretty famous. And he sang with Jane Birkin. I love foreign films, too. :)
Henrietta and Quincy are, without a doubt, the cutest couple I've EVER seen!!!
Thank you so much, Scott. I will let them know your sentiments when they awaken. They are with their sleuth (group of bears) and may not awaken for a day or two.
Nice story, nice set up, and very cute bears Laura! Great post! Thanks! :^)
Thanks so much, Bill! Much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed!
You're very welcome Laura! Great talent! :^)
So precious ! Love the photography :-)
I enjoy so much reading the adventures of your bears!!! You should absolutely write children books with your photography for pictures. And yes, snow for NY, i'm sort of excited! Are you somewhere in Hudson Valley?
I really love all of your bears!! I keep coming back to these. They'd make anyone smile:)
Many thanks, once again, Bill. I appreciate your kindness.
Thank you very much, Manikin!
Anna, thank you again! Where in NY are you? We are in Hyde Park, a little south of Rhinebeck and a bit north of POK. Hudson Valley Weather is forecasting 6-12 inches. I think I want to get the deck furniture and hammock out now so I am kind of over winter. My 16 year-old is excited at the prospect of a long weekend, though, as his coursework this year is particularly demanding. I'm rooting for a snow day just for him. ;)
Thank you again, Scott. I foresee more ursine adventures in the future so prepare yourself. ;)
Thank you for the love, T., TimeTraveller, and kyratango!
I love Hudson Valley Weather, too! I'm in Warwick area, Orange county. The HVW forecast worries me a bit, as i absolutely had to be at work tomorrow, and they are calling for a big snowstorm, but other outlets are not (yet?)...we shall see. My 8 yo could do without his weekly Friday test, too =)
They are a pair of fine bears.
Love that I'm not the only one playing with my toys.lol. Your house seems so happy. Great pictures as well.
Roy
Thank you so much, fortapache and Roy! Roy, toys are meant to be played with, right? I know some of the rare ones we have are meant to be protected and taken care of, but I still think we can have fun with them and cherish them as they're meant to be cherished.
Anna, what's going on by you? We're getting hit big time. My husband and I had to venture out in it as I was out of my allergy medication!!! The roads are a mess here. My husband is the chief of administration for the National Park properties here in Hyde Park, and they even closed the park today, which is a rare occurrence.
Thanks so much for the love, Judy and Ken!
Laura, it looks like a bust for our area, it's just rain. No wind, no snow. What a bizarre weather pattern we've had this winter! Stay warm, dry and safe!
Thanks so much, Anna. Sorry about that. I know you were looking forward to the snow. It's still coming down with lots of wind.
Thanks so much for the love, aura, Phil and iggy!
It's a great love story, Laura. Quincy looks like a hard man but I am sure that under his gruff exterior is a gentle bear. Henrietta would choose no other, being the woman of the world she is.
Thank you so much, Karen. Yes, Quincy looks tough, but he is actually a big old teddy bear. ;) (Couldn't resist.) Still, he tempers Henrietta's sometimes too free-spirited/lack of judgment/spur of the moment behavior. She is a real spitfire and needs guidance at times.
Thank you for the love, SEAN68.
Photos are great, they have so much personality, it outshines everything !~
Thank you so much, Phil!
