Hello everyone.
Just a show and tell Australian costume jewellery brooch that I thought you might like to see.
It was made and designed by Australian Donald Simpson for his JewelCrest line of jewellery in the 1950s I believe.
I found this at a deceased estate garage sale some time ago and think it is so very beautiful! Waiting for winter now so i can wear it on one of my coats:-)
As you probably know by now I am not into the technical side of the making of jewellery so I won't waffle on because you all know how to describe this better than I could ever do, which always amazes me!
Hope you enjoy seeing this brooch, thanks Judy
Beautiful brooch, love the layering design
Hi Jenni, thank you!
I have been very lazy for a while with not posting.....just could not get motivated but will work on that now!
Also, I am still in touch with CWSupport re the email notification problem.....they really are working very hard to find the fault and fix it!
It's gorgeous Judy and different from most Simpson I have seen.
A few months ago I sold a DS brooch on Ebay, it had a little bit of damage and I sold it cheap which was OK.
I get a message back from the buyer, one Donald Simpson. Really! He was going to repair it, put it in a box, then sell it on. I was amazed. Happy to have sold it to him, but sorta sad that he was buying back his own production, know what I mean!?
Thanks Karen and Wow, selling to the man himself!! How amazing is that......but strange too......perhaps a way to earn more money by buying cheap, repairing and selling on? They are going for quite a lot of money these days according to Ebay:-)
This brooch certainly is BEAUTIFUL Judy!!!!
Thanks very much Ken, your thoughts mean a great deal to me and I am very happy that you love it like I do :-) :-)
Thanks very much Scott , glad you like it, I was very happy to find it but really surprised that the "family" did not want to keep it......
Just beautiful, Judy! The crystals remind me of an icy waterfall!
I need more adjectives! I just glanced at the news on t.v., they were showing Megan Markle with QueenE (Will etc.) at a church service. Caught a glimpse of the Brooch the Queen was wearing - almost as lovely as yours.
Super Brooch !!
Waiting for winter there.....LOL.....Waiting for Spring here.
Hi Eileen, thank you, glad you like it, and yes!! Old Hollywood glamour for sure! Have to love it don't we:-) )

More of a quality piece than most I see here on this site. The prongs that hold the rhinestones are always much better than any other jewellery that don't have the prongs and that is my opinion. This is simply very well made and beautiful !~
Thank you Phil for the very kind compliment and I am happy you enjoyed seeing this brooch.
