It's always great to find an example of a decor on the shape for which it is named. This decor came in a few different ground colors. This on has a bronze ground, which sets off the blue iridescent trailed decoration with silver-yellow threads and applied silver-yellow tongues running from bottom to top. Superlatives aren't adequate to describe this one; so I'll just let the glass do the talking.

      Lovely! Such an incredible decor.

      Astonishing.
Why is the rim in the pattern asymmetrical? Did it allow for different rim treatments of the same shape? (Apologies if this is an ignorant question. I don't own any books with pattern drawings.)

Wow22, I think the paper pattern just got clipped, and it was scanned as is.

Haha. So nothing deep and meaningful at all! Thanks.

Not in this case, but it was a good question, because there are paper patterns where such differing details ARE shown in the same pattern. PN II-1/680, for example, shows a bowl with drips and different types of feet on opposite sides to show four different options for the same shape - with drips, without drips, with ribbed feet, with pinched feet - all on the same pattern.
