This is the latest addition to my Tango Glass Tableware Collection. The slender green piece is a spill holder. These appeal to me far more than vases.......

These are just amazing. Never more true - I learn something new every day. I've really enjoyed looking at the Tango Glass vases posted, but these tableware pieces are so very good. All of them here make a beautiful collection of design, and colour.

Thank you so much, Gillian. Your comment alone makes the effort worthwhile. This collection lives in the kitchen and makes it a much brighter place!

These look great! I can see the appeal of tableware over vases. The little blue conserve pot is devine

Thank you Fran, I love that they were intended for use......and of course that the shapes are much more varied than you get with vases.

I was going to ask you if these were usable items. I thought about it - 'no, absolutely not' I said to myself, can't imagine the wrath from my mother as the jam pot slipped out of my hands landing on the slate floor.

Hi, Gillian I started to answer your question, then thought I should visit your page to see if I could glean just where in the world you are. What a surprise...... you two girls and your Mum in front of a very British bay window! But what was totally astonishing were the smocked dresses.....my Mum made those for me too!!!!!

But to the glass...... I believe that these were undoubtedly made to be used. They are of the same period as Clarice Cliffe tea sets and in both cases they would have been used then. However if you bought such items now I doubt you'd use them. Once a thing is 80-100 years old you view it differently.

I shall be posting more Tango Glass houseware in due course. It was popular and not just used for tableware.

This is the Czech glass I should be collecting; it gives me so much pleasure. Perfect, clear, bright colours, with contrast, and fantastic shapes.
That last photo is kitchen porn Peggy!

It's plumptious, though I think that's only a word if you come from Knotty Ash!

Beautiful colours, mostly simple shapes make this glass timeless and, in comparison to some modern glass, much more artistic.

I think you nailed it, Ivonne. I regard this as the pure form of Tango Glass and it looks good because, even in a group, it looks uncluttered.
