I just bought this bracelet yesterday, thinking it was vintage, perhaps from the 1960's, but now I am not so sure. I wonder if it is a current piece made in the vintage style. It has a little tag that has a "C" mark on it. The clasp is a lobster claw spring style. (I hope my terms are correct). Can anyone help me estimate the actual age or maker of this bracelet? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. --Andrea
Ah, thank you so much Ms.Crystalship! I will research further on the lobster clasps (and others).
I will remove the picture, (if I can....I am still learning the ropes here. ) although I am still curious what the brand is. I still like the bracelet even though it is not true vintage. Not sure how long it will stay in my collection though! :)
PS since I am betraying my ignorance..... Is there a way to view the postings to this Show and Tell area in a chronological way? I can't figure out the sorting procedure.
Yes very easy to put pics in chronological order, just go the the 4-sided arrows to left of pic and move it to where you want.
I love the coloured coral rhinestones. They use a false prong which is for decoration as glue actually holds the stones down. Beautiful bracelet !~
Phil-- BINGO! This is a glued piece, with little fake prong nubs. That should have been a huge red flag to me! Thank goodness I did not spend serious money on this. And the coral bits are plastic, not rhinestones. (which I did know. Again, this was a cheap thrill:)
Is it always the case that a truly vintage piece will have prong set rhinestones? Or only the better made ones? Or to put it another way, when did glued stones become a "thing"?
Also --thanks for the tip about ordering the pics. I see that some of my postings (if not all) have been re-categorized, so I need to be sure I choose the proper category for my pictures also. Thanks for your patience with me!

I know this mark, the C impressed on an oval tag attached to the bracelet, it is from the 198o-90s vintage, one of my favorite designer for sportswear then too. It's....... Liz Claiborne.
Very nice bracelet. Just to be clear, I think that some pretty easy research on the internet will reveal that the Liz Claiborne mark is generally one of a variety of marks using some form of "LC", and not a singular stylized C as seen on your piece. I used to run an auction, and also a very high volume thrift store, both of which sold tons of fine and costume jewelry, so I have seen and handled more than my fair share of it.
I have the identical bracelet only mine looks like milk glass and rhinestones. Besides colors everything else is identical.
The brand is called "Charming Charlie"
1. First things first, jewellery and cloth produced twenty years ago, and more can be classed as vintage. Therefore 90s and early 2000s come under that category if this bracelet was made around that time or earlier - vintage. As an example, 90s Nirvana T-shirt is undeniably vintage etc.
2. Denying the first point is simply a subjective opinion on what's vintage or how vintage should look like. Especially when people say, "It looks too good or too new to be vintage". They mean that they were looking for something rather older, and their opinion is subjective.
3. Brand on the photo Charming Charlie, established in 2004 and therefore, even first creations can't be considered vintage yet.
We already know it's not vintage, and we already know its Charming Charlie
