This device is labeled “Flescher Spinal Manometer” with the initials “B-D” (Becton Dickinson?). There is a fragment of autoclave indicator tape on the outside of the case. Does anyone have a guess about the date this might have been manufactured? Was it a clinic device or a portable device used by doctors?
Spinal taps ?
The blood pressure equivalent of this is a sphygmomanometer. I don't even want to think about what a spinal manometer would be. :-)

CSF, cerebral spinal fluid pressure analysis is a way of looking for conditions that affect your brain and spine. CSF is the clear fluid that cushions and delivers nutrients to your central nervous system (CNS). CSF is produced by the choroid plexus in the brain and then reabsorbed into your bloodstream. The fluid is completely replaced every few hours.
