Hello everyone!!
Here is my small vintage cold painted pack of hounds. I've cleaned these about as much as I plan to. The paint has quite a nice patina and I don't want to take away. They're made entirely of lead and though missing some of their original paint, I still really love his little pack of hounds. They're fairly small and measure 5" long and 1 1/4" tall. These would date back to the early 1900's.
Thank you all so very much for taking the time to stop in for a look!!

Very cute puppies! It's really cool how they are all jointed into one piece. I can't help but wonder where you keep all your pooches and bunnies and trunks... Do you feel sometimes that you need more space to keep adding? =)
Thanks Anna!! I actually have most of my trunks and top hats in a separate room. I quite of few of my doorstops in my shop. And I have quite few rabbits, hares and dogs in a display case. The remainder are stored safely in a few of my trunks. Yes, there are times I feel like I need a larger home.
Such a sweet puppy family & your photo angles are terrific Scott, they seem to be sniffing & hot on the trail
I love these hounds! I'm amazed, too, at how they're in one piece. I've not ever seen anything like this.
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go,
Heigh ho, the dairy-o, a hunting we will go!
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go,
We'll catch a fox and put him in a box,
And then we'll let him go!
~ Love them ~ As they brought the MUSIC out of me !!
Thanks Jenni!!! They definitely are hot on a trail:)
Thanks Laura!!! They do make for a unique piece. I feel certain this was once part of an English fox hunt grouping.
Rose, That's a really cute little tune! I was picturing Elmer Fudd singing this:) Thanks for the big smile you put on my face!!!

A very clever little piece. Perhaps this was a toy? Or a conversation piece?
Oh, love these Scott! Surely hunting the fox i reckon:-)
Thanks fortapache!! Due to the wear on the paint, I'm willing to believe you're right about it once being a toy.
Thank you Judy!! I'm certain they're on the trail of a fox:)

Nice little collection. I haven't seen lead ones since I was a kid.
They may have been part of a set with the huntsman and his horse sounding his horn ready for the hunt. This item has got me reliving the times where we hosted the Berkeley Hunt Gloucestershire. I will never forget that I had 2 cases of out of date Pony which was a port based drink and gave everyone a glass with them thinking it was an expensive ruby port. They loved it, Tally Ho. Neil
fhrjr2,
