Well, I finally found one! According to my friends in a FB antiques group, this is not a reproduction. I have wanted one for a long time but have not found any at a reasonable price. This one was 5 Euro in a local thrift shop.
Thanks for stopping,
Bonnie
I’m so jealous I too have been looking for years!
But then my list of wanted items keeps growing as I find one thing I come up with another....lol
Congrats!
Usually these are paperweights also, I remember one in mother's room in the Bates Motel.
That has to be the most unique doorknocker I've ever seen.
I have seen them in some movies as doorknockers.
Very appropriate door knocker, a gloved hand is the perfect shape. Nice find
Hope you don't have a glass door ! LOL. Enjoying winter in "dike-hopper" land ?
Ha! Lucky ducky you Bonnie :-)
Well worth waiting to get this beautiful old one atva great price!
Thanks, All! Winter here can go away any time.
Now I have to decide where I want to drill the hole for this lovely item.
Fantastic!
fabilus item and beautiful & so useful
thanks for sharing bonnie
I remember not that long ago I found one of these and didn't even know what it was until told. It made perfect sense. You may be able to barely see remnants of a name written largely in the palm of the hand. Have you been able to remove that bolt? I think i posted mine here and there was another piece to it if I remember correctly. Nice find, these are really great!
