Yes, Happy Easter ! If it was Thanksgiving the Turkeys would be hiding! :^D
I took these photographs this morning 03/31/18 after I got back from the Flea Market. The Turkeys, thirteen of them were in front of our home, and the house across the street, where these were taken. Three young Toms were in front of our home, and joined the other Old Tom, and his harem, across the street, but kept back a bit, and never raised a tail feather in front of the old Tom.
Just thought it would be fun for an Easter Wish! :^)

Thanks for looking, all comments welcome! :^)

This is really a great shot!! We have a tremendous amount of turkeys here in Kentucky. But, I never get to see the toms with their full fan tail feathers. That's quite a beard on that tom.

Hi Ken, yes they are! Yes, we see them all year long, but mainly in the spring, for a couple of years, they roosted in the large ash, street tree, at the house that the photographs were taken. We would watch them fly from our roof, across the street, to the tree there, very fun to see the chicks only a couple of weeks old fly, with the guidance of the three mother hens, to roost near the top of the tree but still under the shelter of overhead branches, then in the early morning, fly to the ground again. Pretty awesome! Thanks for the comment, and the love! :^)

Thanks Scott, I don't usually get close enough to photograph them, but see them a lot this time of year. On my way to bowling, two months ago, in a small valley along side the road, I saw a very large group, over 200 turkeys at once, like a herd of cattle, with at least 4 large toms keeping watch, unbelievable! Thank you for the love too! :^)

Talking about Bowling I've got to go! Happy Easter, and Thanks for the loves, I'll catch up after bowling! :^)

Oooooo I can't imagine having turkeys walking around my lawn... how wonderful! The only birds that visit me here in Krakow (on my balcony -- I live in an apartment, so no lawn) are nasty pigeons and beautiful, highly intelligent magpies. :)

Wishing you a very happy and healthy Easter.

Thanks fortapache, yes, you can see why our Country's Founding Fathers suggested to have the Turkey as our National Symbol, very impressive, but selected the Bald Eagle instead! :^)

Thank you Thomas, and the best that you can have, to you! :^)

Yes it is melaniej, we always make there's water out for them to drink, to keep them coming back. When our cat Peaches sits on the front porch early in the morning, the turkeys come up to check her out, but neither, will bother with the other! Thank you for the Easter wish! :^)

Hey MALKEY, yeah nice to dream, but my wife wouldn't go for it, and I probably couldn't handle anymore then her anyway! :^D Happy Easter to you too! :^)

Anik, thank you much for the Easter wish! :^D It is pretty wonderful, but the closest thing to a Magpie around here is a Crow, or maybe a Starling or Mockingbird, but those winged rats are everywhere! :^)

My grand-daughter is making turkey and a ham today. I had a small young turkey as a pet, ---he drowned in the toilet. That was very sad, Those turkeys are gorgeous.

That sounds great for Dinner Lois, I'm roasting a Leg of Lamb, for tonight! :^Q Sorry to hear about your Turkey, it's always hard to loose a pet! :^( When the Turkey chicks hatch out, the hens walk them around the neighborhood, teaching them how to eat, but a lot of the chicks don't make it(Hawks, Cats, Dogs, and cars), it's always hard to see how few make it, but every year there's more Turkeys then the last, so I guess they're doing ok! :^)

Hello Karen, thank you much, they are cool! :^D I like it when the Toms gobble to round up their harem, if I make the same sound, the Toms will call back, but the hens really don't care either way, they'll hang together and do what ever they want, Toms ordering, or not! :^O Thanks for the love too! :^)

how not yow...haha i just found my glasses!!!
    26. billretirecoll billretirecoll, 7 years ago
Could be Sue, I know the younger Toms were probably thinking, too macho, for us, the way they squatted down real low as they came closer to the older macho, mas macho, Tom!
Yow works too, I miss the keys right, left, up, or down, sometimes I don't even know how I wrote a word, or what I was trying to say, my 60" screen helps to see the words, but the keyboard is a different story! :^D

Thanks to you all, for all the loves, and for taking the time to stop by, ho2cultcha(Pete), Hunter, shareurpassion(Sue), aura, and iggy(Rich), much appreciated! :^)

Thanks Pascal, he sure is! :^D We really enjoy being able to see them, almost everyday. Our cat Peaches, likes to sit on the front porch, and watch them, but every once in a while, when they get too close, she gets nervous, and wants to come back into the house, until they leave! :^)
    29. billretirecoll billretirecoll, 7 years ago
With loving proof, that you stopped by again Pascal! :^D
      Thank you so much! :^)
