This has to be one of the most beautiful Jenny Lind trunks I've ever seen. The leather covering and interior are just outstanding. It's from somewhere in the second half of the 1800's. Very rare to see one in this wonderful original condition. I'm certain that someone from CW will be able to give you a much closer age for this one.

Unfortunately, CW prohibits it's members from giving values to items. However, you can use the CW appraisal link to get a value. Welcome to CW!!

Very nice jenny Lind, I don't believe the lock and lock plate are the original to the trunk, hard to tell for sure but looking at the picture of the trunk open, it looks to have a piece of tin covering up the original, I have never seen a Jenny Lind with this type of lock, but other than that, very nice, greendog.

This style of trunk was made in the U.S. and popular from late 1840's up to early 1870's about 25 years give or take a bit, they were never sold as Jenny Lind's, the trunks were given the name many years later, and named after the Swedish opera singer Jenny Lind, who toured the U.S. for two years 1850-1852 with P.T. Barnum, greendog.
