I went to several sales today and found a few things, this being one of them. This piece caught my eye when i stopped, because it is quite unusual. It is a black and white porcelain accented by gold. It is signed in gold Carpie, and has a tag on bottom. Anyone familiar with this manufacturer? Any ideas on age?

Nice 1980's vase Mrstyndall, I think the 86 written on the tag is a hint to that! :^D
I found a different Carpie' vase, on an Etsy listing here:

      https://www.etsy.com/listing/253228964/1980s-carpie-italy-vase-sleek-80s-design

I also saw a few others, most were 1980's Modernist Designer vases, like yours is. I think the Carpie' name is the designer, but it was made by a jobber company, maybe the Sele-Arte mark is that company! I hope this helps, and thank you for showing! :^)

Here's an Ebay Italy listing, for a Carpie' Sele-Arte vase, a little closer to yours in style:

      https://www.ebay.it/itm/Raro-Carpie-Vaso-vintage-Ceramica-Italy-Sele-Arte-Nove-Vicenza-vase-anni-80-/332373142381

Maybe if you translate it, you could get more information! Again, I hope this gives you something to go on Mrstyndall, good luck! :^)

Alan, it is 12.5 -13 inches tall.

Bill, thanks for the info. I had done a little research and had seen the first you listed but not the second. It just seemed that there wasn’t too much info in the States about them-probably more overseas. Compared to the prices, I got a pretty good deal-paid $10 and it is in excellent shape

Wow, great price, and a little larger then I thought, it would look nice in a black décor room, or on a black, or white dining table, for centerpiece flowers! :^)
